I am a rank precious-metal-buying beginner. I want to start hedging against inflation and monies invested in stocks, bonds, real estate, etc. After reading this book, which took all of 90 minutes and spending time on the Internet researching some it's authors recommendations and comparing prices across the more prevalent precious metal dealers I was able to secure my first batch of gold and silver with confidence. I knew what to look for and how much to pay. For example, learning about spot price, how it works and how to evaluate how much over spot one can expect to pay for silver and gold.If you read the book you'll learn about different types of buyers that like varied types of gold, silver, etc.For example, coins vs bars. Me, I just want to buy gold and silver with the expectation that prices will, in general, continue to rise over the years and if I were to sell then I would sell for what the metal is worth. Not sold for it's decoration, grade, year minted, etc. Basically, make it simple. And, that is exactly what this book does.
This is an excellent book for gold and silver investors and covers almost every facet of detailed information about buying coins. Unlike some books on this subject which spend endless chapters delving into the bad state of the economy, this author explains it in common man terms, briefly enough to cover the point, but in enough detail to alert the reader to keep aware of the economy. The book also recommends several internet reference sites, explains how to find the best deals on eBay (and other places to buy coins), and is very readable and easy to understand.HIGHLY, highly recommended!
