I have written a review of "The Shepherd's Life" in which I said I had read that book in Kindle and was ordering the book because wanted to hold it in my hands. When I held this book in my hands I returned to the reality of a shepherd's life, now with photos of great beauty to make it even more real.

James Rebank is a wonderful writer - about the Lake District, about being a sheep farmer and about the importance of rural communities, of people with deep connections to the lands on which they live and from which they receive their living.I would recommend any of his books to anyone who wants to walk deeply into his country, his life, his ruminations.

Beautiful book... a follow up of THE SHEPHERD'S LIFE by the same author... beautiful photos of sheep, country, and quotes from the original book.. Lovely, restful, contemplative. Takes me away from the hectic city life.

Utterly romantic color photographs about a way of life that is hard, harsh, yet ultimately as close to the Sacred as one can get on this island earth.

wonderful photos and writing. An insight into a place i've wondered about for years

Couldn't resist gently reading this before giving it as a gift to my sister who embraces God's gift of nature. Really cool peek into a solid culture of sheep raising. It makes you realize what you lose out on when you move toward a more "modern" way of living.

This book came with high praise (wonderful article in major newspaper Sunday Book Review). I expected it to be in a larger size format so was a bit disappointed when it arrived. The content is interesting for anyone with a rural background and it brings back many memories of a different time. My husband enjoyed it.

Nice pictures. A bit of further info beyond his first book.
