Large enough to write appointments and the art work of Mary is beautiful. I got the 2018 MARY Calendar and love the pictures, feast days and enough room to write appointments.

Great to know Catholic Church holidays and saints feast days well in advance , colorful illustrations, too.

This is a very large and beautiful Calendar. The art work inside is wonderful. I purchased this for one of our Parishioners in a nursing home that wanted a traditional Catholic calendar. It is so nice I am getting one for myself too!

This is my go-to calendar for feast days. I work with Mother Mary and the saints in my intuitive counseling practice, as well as my online spiritual community, and this calendar is my favorite resource.

We buy these calendars from Tan every year. They are excellent and include both the Ordinary Form and Extraordinary Form (traditional) feast days. Every morning at breakfast, we review the day's saints from this calendar. The artwork is also always beautiful.

We were out of town when our parish was giving away the 2019 liturgical calendars, so I had to buy my own. This calendar is even better than the one our parish normally has! We attend the TLM for the most part, so having a calendar that lists the feasts and Sundays from 1962 is a big help. It also shows the Ember Days, so now we don't have an excuse for not practicing the traditional fast and abstinence on those days. Having the Novus Ordo feasts and Sundays listed is also convenient, because we pray Morning & Evening prayer using the Christian Prayer book from that rite (if anyone knows where to find a Latin Breviary - please share!).

The calendar that really helps us keep on track and look at some lovely Christian art.BUT, I have 2 gripes. I understand art appreciation and all, but I draw the line in my house. I had to make a few Permanent Blank Marker adjustments to October and one to February (just to be sure). I can't stand the thought of looking at a naked baby Jesus (Oct) and what *might* be construed as upper-torso anatomy on the Blessed Virgin Mary (Feb).So, with a few edits, I think this calendar is very good.

I love Sci-Fi books and I have read them for over 60 years. I have read thousands of Sci-Fi books. This book, written by Eric Nylund, is one of my favorites of all time. Just as a note, I don't play the Halo game so my review is only about the quality of the book.This story is absolutely full of action, aliens, military combat and of course the superhuman feats of the Spartan II warriors. This is a team of warriors that know no fear and each one can fight like a thousand other soldiers combined. Trained since the age of 6, genetically mutated and enhanced they have become the strongest military force in the galaxy. Coupled with a super smart Artificial Intelligence, AI named Cortana, they are unbeatable. Put them into their Mjolnir Assault Armor and they are almost virtually invincible.This book cames after the story about The Flood. Eric Nylund is the best author to write any of the Halo books. His books are by far the best stories and they are just superb Sci-Fi. I won't ruin the plot of the book as to many other reviews have already done that but if you love Halo stories this is one of the books you must read. I liked the book so much I purchased the Kindle version, then the large paperback version for my library and then the audio CD version to listen to in my car. I have read or listened to the book 5 times already.If you love super heroes you will love the Master Chief and what he does in this book. Get it, you will love it.I really liked this story and I have read it twice and listened to it twice on Audio and I enjoyed it every time!I feel that this story is one of the best military Sci-Fi books ever written. Eric Nylund is in my opinion the best author in the Halo saga series of books.

It was incredibly satisfying knowing what happened to Red team on reach, the unanswered question of how Sargeant Johnson got off Halo, and what happened to Master Chief after Halo. I'd love to see this story eventually become a part of the game series. (343 pls)The story is full of action and suspense, with tense situations and brilliant writing that sets the mood perfectly. I can't recommend this more for anyone who loves the Halo series or sci-fi in general (make sure to read the first two in the series beforehand though)

For some, the Halo Series has been at it's best when written by Eric Nylund. While the Flood certainly wasn't bad, combined with the fact that it was written by a different author with a plot that most of us knew, made it a little boring but nonetheless a more indepth version of Halo.However, Nylund is back and so is his brilliant style of writing and conveying scenes of non-stop acting in First Strike.Those who have loved the series so far will continue to be impressed with the newest novel until the one which will tell the story of Halo 2.First Strike, picks up pretty much right where Halo (The Flood) leaves off with John and Cortana floating in space in the hope of finding survivors. They find survivors and embark on a quest to find Reach and possibly any Spartan's left on it. Without spoiling the book too much, John will have some backup for the upcoming war with the Covenant.Overall, if you haven't read this book you're missing out on a great preview to Halo 2 and a great read for any science fiction fan as well.

I had the pleasure of reading Nylunds' Halo: Fall of Reach novel. It really humanized The Master Chief a video game character I thought awesome to begin with. In First Strike Nylund continues the story of Earths defense forces John 117 aka the Master Chief and his elite unit of Spartans. Every moment of danger, fear, anger and suffering at the hands of the Covenant is magnified. Eric Nylund does a great job of putting you in not only the Master chiefs awesome boots but also the boots of other heroes in the saga.

The Halo universe, games and novels, tells one of the top 5 greatest sci-fi stories of all time, in quality and quantity. This is a must have for TRUE Halo fans, and simply a really good sci-fi novel for those that aren't. This novel and all of the others in the Halo universe are fantasically written and are very easy reads. Each novel tells a truly awesome story and blends the action, drama, and even comedy very well. Kudos to this author and the others that have contributed to this amazing tale. I hope the Halo franchise and universe continue to evolve for a long long time.

First Strike, the third Halo novel, sees the welcome return of Eric Nylund to the Halo franchise. First Strike is a tight, tense narrative that builds to a satisfying conclusion. I'd recommend it to any Halo fan.For those who need convincing, with First Strike Nylund fills in several holes in the Halo timeline. In this book, we learn how the Chief returned to Earth after the destruction of Halo (as well as how Sergeant Johnson managed the same), gain greater insight into the activities of the UNSC High Command - the Office of Naval Intelligence in particular - and we also learn the fate of the rest of the Spartan-II's, who were left behind on Reach before it was glassed to defend the orbital generators.Nylund also does and excellent job of providing a larger window into the interior of Convenant society - including their attitude toward technology and the importance of their language.Most interesting for general science fiction fans will be the chapters narrated by Cortana, giving the reader a look at the ways a AI with beyond-human thinking speed could function.Any, of course, the Master Chief does impossible, dangerous things, and looks good while doing it.

I think this Is my favorite of the three in the series. Fast passed and you can't put it down.

I really like the original Halo books by Eric Nylund, they add so much. I was really happy since I could buy it on kindle and read it on the go, I only wish I bought Halo: The Flood and Halo: Ghosts of Onyx before it got removed from kindle

Jack Bogle is a hero of mine. I may not be the most fanatical Boglehead, but (i) I regard his achievements with awe, (ii) I've been a Vanguard client more or less since I emigrated to the US and (iii) his mantra of "keep the costs low" has been mine as well for more decades than I care to recall.Alas, this book was a big disappointment. (i) It is a continuous stream of conceit. There's no denying his superlative achievements, but this book reads like an arrogant twenty-something's LinkedIn posting. (ii) The book is desperately short of objectivity He relentlessly presents every argument he can find in support of his own ideology, but the only references to arguments against are to those that he feels he can knock down. (iii) His references to performance are all based on comparative returns, but he makes no mention of comparative volatility.This book would have been *so* much better if it had been written by an outsider. (i) The inevitable huge praise for Vanguard would have come across as much more seemly than the boastful tone to which the reader is subjected here. (ii) The reader would (I hope) have been presented with a much more objective viewpoint. (iii) The points against the Bogle approach would have been evaluated more fairly. I have little doubt that Bogle would have been described as a vitally important and beneficial force in the investment world and that would have carried so much more credibility coming from an outsider than coming from Bogle himself.Your achievements speak for themselves, Jack: you do yourself no favours with such unbridled bragging.

I have read four of John Bogle's books, and his clear analytical advice guided me in investing for my goals over 30 years. His guidance on reducing investment costs to obtain most of the market return has guided me on my own investments and in my role as trustee for several family trusts. In reading his book "Stay the course", it is evident that John Bogle puts the fund shareholder's interest first and his personal gain near the last. This is exactly the reverse of most investment adviser. In each of his books and in my interactions with Vanguard employees, it is clear that the fund investor's interest is ranked first. I recommend all of Mr. Bogle's books.

A wonderful history of a man and company that changed the world. As stated time and time again, no single individual has done more to fight for the average investor than Jack Bogle. The book is a wonderful biography of Vanguard and Jack's history. Well done 👍

Without Jack, we would still be paying 8.5% commission to buy a mutual fund and paying high fees for active management.I also like the final chapter on his memoir on Jack's personal reflections.I have read all of Jack's books, and I would call this one his best. Jack explains reversion to the means in examples where things go up and then go down, so a waste of time chasing yesterday's winners.OK - I am a little bias, I bought the Vanguard STAR fund in 1985 and the Windsor II fund in 1987. Two of my best decisions early on.

Totally disappointed.Book written by an authority on mind power, with title being “Mind Map Handbook” yet most of the book is about use of words, verbal intelligence, body language and everything else but mind power methods.The book is so “not flowing” and “disjointed “ with subjects that I had to check few times whether I am still reading the same book.What a waste of time.

Tony is the originator of mindmapping. Love his software. This book, at the beginning is about mind mapping then he goes into other areas, great on self improvement but not on mindmapping. Should change title or kick out two books.

I enjoyed reading thus book. Learnt a lot which I am going to use in my daily life as a coach. I am going to read th u s book again. One reading is not enough.

This book is different compared with the regular handbook which are mostly theory, this one gives many examples and excersices that guide you through acctualy learning the concepts.I definetely recommend it.

Short version: Get this book for every man you love and even the ones you feel are hard to love.Long version: I love Jason Wilson. I know his ministry is targeted towards men but he still speaks to me (a black woman). My sister mentioned to me that Wilson had a book that was soon to be released. I came on Amazon over a month ago just to read the book listing. I don't even know how it happened but I must have clicked purchase on accident because before I knew it, there was a message thanking me for my preorder. I almost cancelled the order but felt compelled to keep the order. I am a life coach and mentor for teens both male and female. I also have a younger brother and a father that I still struggle to relate to and understand. On top of all of that, I generally don't know how to relate to men at all [romantically]. I am a daddy's girl who has a father that really isn't the daddy's girl type. A lot of father's don't understand that they frame how their daughters will relate to men. You are our 1st love and often our 1st heartbreak (it goes without saying... But not in a sexual or romantic way). The way that this is handled will be with us in every relationship, even our relationship with God. I thought reading Wilson's book would feel like reading someone else's mail but his words are so engaging that I had to force myself to not finish it in one day and let what I have read so far unfold in me before moving on. This book has been such a healing and eye opening experience for me. I have learned more about my brother and dad and even myself from this book. I could relate to Wilson's quest for his father's love and approval and I became very aware through reading this book from his POV that we feel much the same, we just express our emotions differently. Maybe after thoughtfully and prayerfully reading this book, I will overcome my fear of relationships and finally have the privilege of having one. If you're wondering if you should get this book... Yes!!! You should and grab a few extra copies for someone else who may need to cry like a man.I have the Kindle book but I'm getting hard copies for my dad and brother and a few for my male clients as well.

I have been waiting for this book to release since I saw on Eshon Burgundy's Instagram a copy of it. This was an excellent read. There were many things I could relate to as a young black man. There were also many things I couldn't relate to but that's ok. I was was the white sheep compared to my brother, the black sheep. Though raised in a Christian home and still an active believer there are things that I missed because of cultural barriers. It's important to know that Christ penetrates all cultural barriers even when we can't see it. This books depicts a picture of turmoil though I haven't experience to that extent I can resonate with as a man. I believe Mr. Wilson paints a portrait of the struggle that many men face and too prideful to admit publicly. To show vulnerability is weakness in many eyes. Thankfully, Jesus identifies with our struggles and will wear the scars of our vulnerability, shame, and defeat forever. Mr. Wilson gave us just a glimpse of that saving power and for that I say thank you.

I've been waiting three months for this book. I've been following Mr. Jason Wilson on social media with his work with CATTA for about a year.  As a mother of an only son, I want to have a better understanding of my husband and the men in my life. EQ (Emotional Intelligence) and the ability to verbally share feelings are important skillsets we desire in our son and our selves. I received the book today and read the entire thing. Mr. Jason shares his life story and how he overcame his struggles with God on his side through forgiveness, redemption, grace, serving others, loving hard, and being a lion and a lamb. Get some tissues out for many joyful and challenging moments shared. I will be sharing this with my husband and family. I’m going to give my boy and husband extra hugs tonight. God is good and so faithful!

There is no reason that Jason Wilson should be such an incredible influence for good today, except for the grace of God, his wife, and other people who did not give up on the good inside him, sometimes buried deep. For the longest time he walked his own path - the one that looked like it would get him what he needed and to where he wanted to go. He did not have the examples he needed. He did not have the love he needed, that we all need. But life experiences and people taught him. What he does today with youth is amazing and he is a shining example. I have cried watching some of The Cave of Adullam videos. If I had to describe this book in one word, that word would be "epic." I look forward to the movie! Thank you, Jason Wilson, for stepping up, finding your true nature, and for teaching young men and boys true strength!

This book has encouraged me to not only become more intimate with my Heavenly Father, but to appreciate my earthly, godly father, & honor my mother. It also helped me look at insecurities within, so that I can love my wife better and lead her heart, as well the hearts of our sons. Glory to Yahweh!!! May He continue to lead you, Jason Wilson. While this book is an excellent read for everyone, I highly recommend it to any man who has a desire to free himself from the societal definition of masculinity. This book is awesome.

A richly detailed account of the Yijing tradition, including detailed accounts of several related texts, which contextualize and deepen the discussion of the canonical text as it has descended to us.

This one-volume historical survey of the development and use of the Yijing from prehistory to today is long on breadth and short on depth. The breadth is impressive and the lack of depth is excusable. The book, by Professor Richard Smith of Rice University, is chock-full of nuggets of information not otherwise accessible, especially to non-Chinese readers, nuggets enough to supply a whole generation of graduate students with Ph.D. dissertation topics. For example, Smith brings to our attention that Yan Fu, in the foreword to his translation of Thomas Huxley's "On Evolution," argued that the Yijing "offered a cogent explanation of scientific processes such as natural selection." And, Smith writes, "the anarchist Liu Shipei used a detailed analysis of the judgments, images, and line statements of the Yijing to show an affinity between what he considered to be the concerns of modern Western sociology and the 'learning of the Changes.'" Liu thus "believed that the Yijing, like the number-based theories and practices of modern sociology, could be used for what might today be called 'social engineering.'" Smith also relates how Yijing symbolism has been interpreted in sexual terms by past and contemporary scholars--a use rarely spoken of elsewhere. Most of the book's nearly 400 pages contain such nuggets. As a survey volume, covering more than three millennia, it is necessarily short on depth and cannot be faulted for what comes naturally. To give an idea of the volume's comprehensiveness, Smith's bibliography includes nineteen pages of Asian-language works and twenty-four pages of Western-language works. Best of all, Smith generally adopts an unbiased stance on most issues, letting the proponents and opponents of various positions present their cases and weighing all sides judiciously. The result is a unique and indispensable reference history.
